Dear Change,

I've previously been very afraid of you. You weren't welcome in my home, and I spoke badly about you behind your back. I resisted you, avoided you, and made fun of you. I want to change our relationship. I want to learn to cultivate and respect you, dance with you and take you out to dinner. Let's travel together! Will you be my everlasting friend?

"We both step and do not step in the same rivers. We are and are not."

I won't contest Heraklitos' belief that change is real, and stability illusory. Change is not only unavoidable, but inevitable.

Having said that though change is not driven by random chance. In the words of Einstein "God does not play dice with the universe." I take comfort in a personal belief that there is a reason and purpose behind everything, regardless of whether we understand it or not.
