I followed that poll for a while and don't quite agree with the results. For one, under the genre of electronic music you have one too many sub-genres ( from heart-racing trance to soothing lounge beats). So maybe within the sub-genre of just trance, the DJ who recieved most votes (given the audience Djmag caters to) was Van Dyk. But to say that he is simply the number one DJ in the world (this coming from a DJmag) is wrong. Also, there a number of new-age DJS who are redefining what the whole "trance-dance" experience is who aren't even featured up there. Not to be a snob or anything, but in my mind Van Dyk is not even on my top ten list of favorite DJs. Personal preference. Just spreadin da word drake, spreadin da word:)
Snob. Well, I believe that list was compiled from the "people", surya..the people aren't always on top of their game, like you obviously are. I think the majority of the voters were from the UK, US, and Germany, too..which obviously skews things. Hey, if you gotz some betta tunes, help a brudda out! Thanks for spreadin the word:)
