The Inevitable?
I got a call from the State Department on Monday, inquiring as to whether or not I wanted to interview with them for a job I applied for back in May. I called them back after I thought about it for awhile and told them "no, not at this time". I'm just not sure, the State Department would be nice, but the thought of moving back east to Washington, DC, just doesn't gel right now. It's so difficult to know what is the right choice and what isn't. Timing has everything to do with it. Still, it seems that one day the move out east will be inevitable..

Oh come on Paul, you know you want to deal with exorbantly high rent prices, black suits every day, and the people with the sense of humor of dead fish. This city is great! Add to that, the fact that it's built on a swamp, and it's nearly 100% humidity daily, youd love it here. So it's not one of the better days for DC for me, but honestly it's a decent city, I just don't know if I were to make the big decision I'd move here again. But when you are stuck in defense contracting with strong ties now to OSD (oops, and I was trying to hard not to use my acronyms -- I forgot, this is also acrynym hell!!!) -- Office of the Secretary of Defense, I'm pretty much stuck here until I find a new career
