it's EVERYDAY incidents like this that make you crawl miserably in the corner and look for comfort within.

but you can't find it here. no, no, no.

who are these monsters who kill your brothers, mothers, children? Who are these who rape your sisters and wives? Who are these hideous creatures who make your fine young sons into hopeless, gutless, dismal gits?

APATHY. FEAR. VENGEANCE. MALICE. GREED. ANGER!!! The very essence of being HUMAN is drained from their skin, bone, and SOUL.

Prayers of peace are not enough to quell the emotions that rush among the tired, wretched, life-less crowd.

Moreover, what are the circumstances that permit (perhaps promote) such barbaric behavior?

Put in those scenarios, stripped of everything, would we resort to such a level of brutality? Never, but wait, let me go get my white chocolate mocha as I jump aboard this 757 to Hawai'i.

It's hard to come to grips with, but ultimately one has to acknowledge an innate evil learking about in mankind. Maybe that's why market economies and capitalism is so stressed, people focus their lives around money, and sedate the pain and agony of everyday life with material possessions and pleasure seeking.

One thing is for sure, as long as this violence goes unabated and unchecked, the fire will continue to burn, people will continue to suffer, and nobody will ever be safe.

Turn off the TV and movies, open up the international section of any international news periodical, and you'll see that a Hobbesian way of life is still the norm for many: 'No arts; no letters; no society; and which is worst of all, continual fear and danger of violent death; and the life of man, solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.'

We've come a long way, huh?
