Bumper Cars

Bumper Cars
picture of the week comes from good ole gloomy Michigan..from an expressway anyone from the area knows quite well (MSU). Quote of the week: "I like the change of seasons" OVERRATED.
http://www.weather.com/activities/other/other/weather/tenday.html?locid=USCA0632. 10 days of golden sun and temps in the 70s!? Woooo! I'll take 2, please!

Although I must confess things aren't as peachy as they appear right now. Dave is down at the beach as we speak, drinking beer with friends in jobless bliss. Meanwhile, I'm hungover in an office under flourescent lights listening to a jackhammer (the office is under construction) Dios Mio! What's wrong with this picture? So tempted to call in the rest of the day...

Give me the long weekend!!

Go! Go! Get out of the cubicle. Go out and play!

Why does society still reward the dilligent 9-5pm salaried man, when a day on a beach with a wireless laptop can stimulate the mind and increase productivity exponentially?

I met a 24-year-old marketing designer the other day. He stole wireless connection from his neighbors on his rooftop as he laid on his hammock and stared at the mountains.

Agree completely. The whole working hard thing is really overrated and pointless..no one dies wishing they would have worked harder...unless of course you are doing meaningful work that helps alleviate problems in the world.

you met a 24 year old boy, ey? How'd that work out for ya?

Hee hee. The 24-year-old designer (an American, I may add) is as good as married to his gorgeous Russian bombshell girlfriend. They live the high life of a weekend golfing yuppie, but has the appreciation for capitalist culture and grand gesture of treating friends to rooftop BBQ parties and awesome 90's American alternative music.

Speaking of yuppies, I found a club called "Yuppie Club" in HK. The term was not intended to be derogatory in Chinese culture, but something to aspire to - I think.

More could be said of Olga and Ben - like the bizarre Russian opera rock fiasco and Communist party talk that went on last weekend. But I'll leave that story for another day.

Tell KK to blog, will ya?

KK has finally updated. It took her long enough! She was all "I update for myself, not for others" BS, JUST UPDATE IT ALREADY!

Take me to this bar you found in HK..I'm so obsessed with Asia right now it's sick..its a sick obsession..I've been bitten so badly by this travel bug that I've gone delirious..!!! I look at pictures from around the world and go into delirium..like an LA resident does when he/she sees the latest Lexus! HAHA but Seriously..I try to watch the sunset everynight..and every time I see it set over the Pacific..I imagine it rising in Asia....completely unknown to me! that drives me crazy. I'm such an impatient little American.

On a side note, Saki..don't you think its so great that we are using nomadlife.org to meet other like-minded people..I mean the fact that we are really building a community from the ground up...and I really think that most of the people in this community our on the same wavelength....it just makes me want to hit "Refresh"...it can only get better...right?!

Stop yo' whining - just get your arse over to Asia!

In response to the note: yup. I'm doing my little wavelength jesture with flailing hands. It takes a certain "wavelength" to communicate at this caliber - and it's AWEESOME!

I just rediscovered Drew, as I didn't know that he was COTU (Amen to Cat) - what an amazing bunch. I got in touch with Shane down in San Diego who just moved into his new condo - I am thinking "road trippin'" ... San Fran - LA - Diego... sweet!

LOL. Although I agree that the South has its charms, I would never dare call it a home.

There's nothing more than cuddling with my 100 lb. Akita, chillin' on the patio with my folks watching the humming birds nest, and driving aimlessly around Berkeley and P-town with my brother that would make me feel at home. It's not the place: it's the people.

Yokohama-Tochigi-Asaka-Atsugi-NY-El Toro-Asaka-Illinois-Pleasanton-Berkeley-Hong Kong... My life is on rent with a big huzzah of a cocktail party. But blood runs thicker than water, and somehow I've found my home.

My brother and I are conspiring a big roadtrip down South. You are invited.
